WHO WE HELP

This year’s campaign will once again be raising funds for The City Mission - Food Banks in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. These central food bank hubs distribute food through close to 140 separate locations throughout New Zealand.

Thanks to the support of our Principal Sponsor Goodman Fielder, 100% of all funds raised will be used for the vital work these charities undertake across New Zealand, helping to feed, clothe and support those in our community who at times need a helping hand. 

Just under 100,000 New Zealanders currently experience ‘low food security’. Food insecurity has been shown to have a detrimental effect on children’s physical and psychological health and development. 

DineAid itself does not directly run any community based programmes.

Instead we have selected three different Food Bank organisations who will be the beneficiaries of 100% of the funds raised from the annual Nov / Dec DineAid campaigns. 

These three charitable Food Bank organisations are:

The Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch City Mission Foods Banks distribute food at close to 140 separate locations throughout the south and north islands of New Zealand.

‘At a time where Food Bank shortages meant that Wellington City Mission staff needed to re-evaluate the eligibility of our food parcels to ensure resources were used more effectively, we were elated to receive a cheque from DineAid 2011 to replenish our shelves. We cannot fulfill the work we do within the Wellington community without the generosity of events like this, and The Mission is indebted to Mark Gregory and the whole DineAid team. We look forward to another successful campaign in 2012!’.
